Pokemon Roleplay

Kenji, with his three pokemon, would step inside the gym. He would glance at the trainer that had beaten him before. He wouldn't lose again. "Bring it on." he'd say as he would clutch on his Kakunas pokeball, glancing at the trainer with a look of eagerness. He would wait for him to send out his first pokemon before he would send out his own.

The trainer tossed out his Geodude, with the same obvious statistics as last time. The trainer would wait to find out who goes first.

"Go, Kakuna of awesomeness!" Kenji would say, sending out his, well, Kakuna of awesomeness. His was somehow faster, and he would use Bug Bite on his opponent. 14-20/3=8

In return Geodude tackled the Kakuna, dealing a decent amount of damage. 18-12/3=14 damage. Kakuna has 9 HP.

"Use Bug Bite again!" Kenji would say with excitement, trying to deal more damage on the Geodude. It was left with 9 HP as well.

Jean and Geodude entered the forest. Right as Jean was going to comment on how the forest was totally lame and filled with idiotic bugs, Geodude was fighting with a Metapod. "Oh my, that thing's ugly." Jean thought, but almost said out loud. He scanned it with his Pokedex, finding its description ridiculous. "Alright Geodude, you both can float, so... May the best 'mon win."

Jean was confident that his Geodude could handle the Metapod with no problem. It didn't seem too strong. But then again, Geodude was hurt from previous battles. He'd have to make this quick. "Geodude: try Tackle, now!" Immediately, Geodude picked up a rock and threw it at Metapod. It wasn't the same as Tackle, but it was good that he learned a new move. The Metapod ran through the rock, a bit hurt, but nonetheless, it managed to tackle Geodude.

Geodude's Rock Throw: 16 - 12/3(4) = 12 damage
Metapod's Tackle: 12 - 10/3(3) = 9 damage

Jean knew Geodude couldn't take anymore. He commanded Geodude to tackle the Metapod. Geodude tackled the Metapod, which fainted it.

"Alright, good enough Geodude. We'll have to turn back." Geodude nodded. They headed for Route 2 again.

After healing his Pokemon back at the Pokemon Center, Gabriel wandered slowly in the direction of route 2. Holding his Pokeball clutched in his hand, he decided to send out his Pidgey to have some free time outside, Abra on the other hand still didn't want to awaken so Gabriel left him alone. "Time to train," he said quietly as he approached the route.

Jean arrived in Viridian City yet again. There, he and Geodude visited the Pokemart, where Jean bought three potions. He quickly left the store and ran to the PokeCenter.

Pokemoney left: 400

At the PokeCenter, Geodude was healed to his full strength. Jean figured that the adventure with only Geodude was getting a bit boring as he held his pokeballs. He decided he would catch one of those bug types in the forest. And so, Jean and Geodude headed for Route 2, a good place to train and catch new friends.

Strolling through the Viridian forests on the outskirts of Pewter city Samus kept his jacket tucked close, not wishes to catch himself on any stray branch or a passing Weedle. On his shoulder his shelled green companion chewed nervously at the collar of his jacket, gripping with its tiny yellow mouth for balance.
"Well if we're going to make our way through Kanto at least we should put some muscle on you, right?" Samus Ryan tried to smile encouragingly at the bug, but it only tipped its tail sluggishly from side to side- he got the feeling it was enjoying the taste of his coat too much. Suddenly a splashing of viscous white liquid stuck at his trouser leg right down to his shoes, like a web, keeping his shoe in place. Inadvertantly Samus had stepped on the body of a Kakuna, who now seemed very happy to put the young trainer into a cucoon of his own!
"Dammit. Alright Mr. Squiggles, let's do this!"

The Metapod, through some miracle, managed to move first. Practically levitating from the floor and slamming into the grass worm as though from a magical slingshot.

Retaliating with a brutal thump with it's own face Mr Squiggles knocked the Metapod onto its back, causing it to rock like a dropped banana.
Caterpie Tackle: 14+2 - 12/3 -> 10 (M:10)

With great misfortune the Metapod tapped into the head of a sleeping beedrill hidden under some moss- in aggitation the giant bee swatted the coccon away with its wing, causing it to once again slam into Samus' pokemon!
Metapod Tackle: 12 - 15/3 -> 7 (C:12)

Seeing the flaw in the wobbling metapods strategy Mr Squiggles wobbles forward on his stubby front legs, rearing up and tapping the pod with his nose in a tackle. Knocking the Metapod over the creature is left rolling on its back, unable to stand due to having no legs.

The Kakuna fainted! Or just couldn't stand up again.
Caterpie grows to 18/30 EXP.

Keeping an eye open Samus lifts the injured worm in his palm, quickly applying the potion in his backpack. After all, this was hardly the most epic warrior in the pokemon world and thus the boy from Cinnabar figured he would be spending a pretty penny on healing items.

No sooner had they begun their inching stroll from the battlefield than something dropped like a coconut from the sky, clonking Caterpie on his round watermelon skull for marginal damage.

Startled by the sudden attack Caterpie began to panic, sprawling with its tail and thrashing about as though using flail, but managing to bump sufficiently into the yellow shell to qualify a tackle.

Using cunning the kind unseen by most forest dwelling insects the Kakuna was using its own string shot to suspend itself from the tree, swinging back and forth and knocking into its enemies like a vicious pinata!

Caterpie crawled into a tight ball to protect itself and rolled backward, landing at his trainers feet. Removing his face from his hands Samus bent an eye to Mr Squiggles, who now looked thoroughly oblivious to the battle given he was now turned away from the enemy. The little bug pokemon merely looked up at the silver haired boy and wiggled happily.
"Right- let's finish this quickly then." Reaching down as though to pick Squiggles up Samus took and launched his little green monster at the Kakuna with relative force. The shell easily protected the stable Caterpie but the force of the tap knocked the coccon swinging high, up into the branches and probaly getting stuck in the leaves.

"I can't believe I let my little sister name you." Samus looked down at the stubby catapillar. Bliking its massive marble eyes Mr. Squiggles lulled its head with a sing-song humming.

In Route 2, Jean and Geodude ran around crazily, looking for a wild pokemon. Eventually, a Nidoran M approached the two as Jean added Nidoran(M)'s data to his Pokedex. He wanted to make sure that when the adventure was over, he had a collection of all the pokemon he had ever encountered. "Geodude, lets go." Geodude nodded. "Geo, geo geo geodude dude geo." Jean nodded. "...Right, I won't forget."

"Start the battle off with Rock Throw, Geodude!" Geodude excuted a Rock Throw, dealing massive damage to the Nidoran M. However, the Nidoran found just enough energy to attempt to tackle Geodude. "Dodge it, Geodude." Geodude moved out of the way, but the Nidoran quickly changed its course and managed to tackle Geodude.

Geodude's Rock Throw: 16 ATK - 8 DEF/3 (3 reduction) = 13 damage. Nidoran is left with 3 HP.
Nidoran M's Tackle: 9 ATK - 10 DEF/3 (3 reduction) = 6 damage. Geodude has 16 HP left.

"Geodude, Tackle, quick!" Without warning, Geodude tackled the Nidoran and it fainte. Geodude gained 10 experience points from the fight and leveled up!

Jean and Geodude decided it was time to try out the forest again, and this time catch something.

Geodude tackled the bug once more. 18-12/4=12 damage, Kakuna has 0 HP. Geodude defeated Kenji's Kakuna and was left with 9 hit points to continue the fight.

"Go, Nidoran!" Kenji would say, grabbing on his pokeball as he would throw out his next pokemon; Nidoran.

He hoped that his training would be enough to defeat this trainer, and that he would be able to win this battle once and for all.

Geodude rammed up against the Nidoran, and then used a powerful Rock Slide, his stronger move. 18(+2) - 8/3 = 17 dmg, Nidoran was left with just one hit point to fend for itself against the Geodude.

"Nidoran, good job! Now, go, attack!" Kenji would state, pointing at the Geodude as the Nidoran would use whateverthehellthe+2movewasforit. 17-20/3=10. The Nidoran would take it out, panting from a job well done.

Alice decided that this could be a good time to start her challenge against the gym. She and Gastly walked up to the entrance of the gym and walked through the big glass doors. That annoying generic guy was in the front giving Alice advice, but she didn't need to know type advantages- she had Gastly and that's all she needed to have at this point. She would worry later about catching others. She saw Kenji further back in the gym, and decided she would catch up with him. He was nearly ready to face Brock and she hadn't even defeated the first gym trainer- this was the time to change that.

"Go, Gastly!" she yelled as she pointed towards the other trainer. Gastly was already out of his Pokeball, and the other trainer threw out a Geodude, the two ready to fight and see who would make the first move.

Gastly could easily make the first move, and he took that initiative. "Use Night Shade!" Alice yelled, as Gastly swooped over the foe using it's signature move. 27(+2)-24/3=21 damage. Geodude was knocked out in a single hit, letting Gastly gain the experience from it! 47/55 EXP -> 72/55 exp -> 17/60.

Gabriel would proceed through route 2, he looked around as he wondered about where everyone else was by now. He set his sights on the now close Viridian Forest, one step closer to getting to Pewter. He smiled as he held one Pokeball in his hand and stepped forward into the entrance of the forest, ready for whatever it could throw at him... again.
