The boy got angry with this, and threw out another Pokeball, with another Geodude- this time surprisingly weaker than the one before.

Yet again the boy was helpless, since he couldn't even attack first.

Kenji would keep his Squirtle out, looking at the boy. "Alright, Squirtle, use another water gun!" he would say, the Squirtle obeying as it shot water from its mouth. 23-22/3 x 1.5=23.

Geodude used Rock Smash against it's foe.

"Finish it, Squirtle! Use Water gun!" Kenji would say, the Squirtle obeying the command and knocking out the Geodude. He would return his Squirtle, saying "Nice match", as he went to the Pokemon Center to heal and come back for the challenge.

After healing yet again at the Pokemon center, Alice decided to go to the route once more to fight another Bird Pokemon. She figured with this she'd get Gastly a well-deserved level, and then soon enough she'd be strong enough to take on the gym leader, Brock. She wanted to do so with just Gastly as her Pokemon but she may end up needing a bit of help...

Pidgey started off the battle with a Peck towards Gastly, which did a decent amount of damage.

15 - 12/3 = 11. Gastly has 12 HP left.

Gastly then responded with a Night Shade, and it did a nice amount of damage to the Pidgey.

20+2 - 15/3 = 17. Pidgey has 7 HP left.

Pidgey repeated the move leaving Gastly with only one HP, and Gastly tackled Pidgey which managed to cause it to faint.

20 - 15/3 = 15.

29/40 -> 51/40 -> 11/45.

Alice then headed to the Pokemon center, got healed up and looked around for a trainer to train with. Who could she fight she wondered, hmm...

RP Reference Post - Evolution.

In contrast with the slightly more complicated evolution idea at the beginning I think it'd be a better idea to evolve how they were intended to- well, at least closer.

For your stater pokemon, your first evolution will be at level 16- this way, you'll evolve the same time you get your third move. Your second evolution will be at level 32, at another point where you gain a move.

For any other pokemon, you will first evolve at level 20. If they have a second evolution, it will be at level 35.

When you evolve at Level 16 or Level 20, every level up gives you 4 stat points to distribute, instead of 3. When you level up again at level 32 or Level 35, you get 5 stat points to distribute.

Kenji would walk back into the gym, his Squirtle in its pokeball and ready to fight. "Let's do this!" he would say, pumped up and ready to beat another trainer. He would walk inside the gym, feeling the cool breeze as he turned to the second trainer, ready to battle.

The trainer approached Kenji and shook his head. "About that..." he said. "If you beat one trainer then leave you've got to wait to fight the next one. Would've been better if you brought potions." he explained. "We need to heal up from your last battle and fix things."

"Eh, alright." Kenji would say, leaving the Gym for a brief moment to get a potion with the money that he got from beating the first trainer. He would come back and look towards the next one, waiting for him to finally be ready so their fight could happen sooner.

Alice spotted Kenji and ran up to him. "Hey-you-yeah-you-yeah-Kenji-over-here!" she said mixing what should've been separate sentences into what seemed like one big word. "Fight me, I need to train and you're a good trainer, so... I wanna fight your Squirtle! Or whatever else you have. C`mon c`mon lets go~" she said, pulling out the Pokeball which, for once, she kept Gastly in. She held it out ready to open it and unleash her Pokemon as soon as Kenji would accept.

"Oh hey-you-yeah-you-Alice-coming." Kenji would say, nearly running out of breath, ready to fight her. He would gasp on his pokeball that had Squirtle in it, and would throw it out, saying "Go Squirtle!" as he would look towards Alice, seeing which pokemon she would bring out first against him, wondering who would make the first move.

"Gastly, nightshade, go, kick his butt!" she yelled and pointed at Squirtle, the obvious target. Gastly flew up high then swooped down, passing right through Squirtle but leaving a purple aura that inflicted damage upon the squirrel-turtle pokemon.

22(+2)-15/3=19 damage. Squirtle's Health = 2, herp derp. Alice awaited Kenji's attack, curious as to what he had up his nonexistant sleeves...

"Use Water Gun!" Kenji would state immediately after, not wanting to lose such a lead in the beginning, and wanting to win. 24(+2)-12/3=22. Ghastly was left with two health left also. "Woah, this is intense!" he'd say with a smirk.

"Ha." Alice laughed a bit. "Nooot really." she said as Gastly swooped in to attack Squirtle, not even doubting a bit that she had the battle in the bag.

22-5=17. Squirtle's HP = -15.

"Got'cha~" Alice said. "Now how much PD is that..." she wondered out loud, then watched Gastly float around her, grinning as always, confident that he had just won another battle. Still, he didn't stand a chance at the gym leader, while squirtle on the other hand did, because of the type advantage.

Sitting on the ridges of some poor boys yard in Pewter City a young man with light hair and flickering coat-tails rested with both arms draped across his knees, hovering just a short vibe from the touches of the grass below. Snuggling up with a partially worn out stump a stubby green companion perched, it's little yellow nose poking at the sky and back down to the flowers below- he'd already been warned not to eat them, the boy who owned the yard had already sprayed it against caterpies.
"Seems like we're not the only ones making their move through the city." Samus Ryan crooked his head up and watched two distant figures poise for battle. The little forest worm wobbled lazily before turning itself to him. Samus had never attempted to keep the pitififul little Pokemon inside a pokeball, simply because it gave him someone to talk to on this long trip away from home. "Let's just sit back and watch for a bit, shall we?"

"This isn't over! Go, Nidoran!" he would say, grabbing on his other pokeball to send out Nidoran, hoping for one last attempt at victory. He would stand there and wait for the attack, hoping he could out-speed it.

"...Oh come on, you're kidding me, two versus one? That's not fair... Tch, oh well, like I need to play fair!" Alice looked at her Gastly which knew what she was thinking. "Night shade, eliminate that little... thing!" she yelled, getting irritated now.

Gastly replicated the action from before and flew high above the Nidoran, then flew right through it, it's ghostly body passing right through. Its misty tail left a streak of dark swirling mist in the sky which inflicted a large amount of damage onto the little Pokemon.

22(+2) - 8/3 = 21. Nidoran's HP = 0.

39/45 Experience -> 54/45 -> 9/50.

"Thanks for the laughs and for the extra training, ha." Alice said, much visibly calmer now. With this, Gastly felt even better than before, and filled with energy, likely because of the level it had just earned.

As soon as Jean took foot within Route 22, a Spearow came out and attacked Geodude. Jean got ready, analyzing the battle. "Geodude, use..." Jean recalled a move he saw on television. "Use Rock Slide!" Geodude looked confused as time was running out. The Spearow was approaching.

"Alright Geodude," Jean paused, waiting for the Spearow to get within range. He scanned Spearow. "Use Tackle, now!" The Geodude followed the order well. As the Spearow recoiled, it flew into the air. Geodude couldn't find the bird Pokemon until it was too late- the bird sweeped the air behind the Geodude and tackled him back.

Geodude's Tackle: 12 - 6 = 6/3 = 12 - 2 = 10 damage
Spearow's Tackle: 8 - 10 =~= 1 damage

Jean cheered for Geodude as the ventured further into the Route, looking for a way out.

When Geodude recovered, he floated around the Spearow. "Now!" The Geodude jumped over the now distracted Spearow, when suddenly Jean said, "Tackle!" The Geodude knocked over the Spearow, who fainted. Geodude gave a war cry as he felt much stronger. He had gained 8 experience and leveled up!

Shane looked at his two Pokeballs, containing Dragyn and Mankey, respectively. Compared to Kenji and Alice, his pokemon weren't nearly as strong (2 level difference is weak lol :3), and he thought he should be training more... or maybe his stats weren't distributed correctly or maybe even... and as Shane pondered all of this, he still couldn't find the answer. If he tried challenging the gym leader, he'd probably lose (LOLI'MMIRRORINGMYOWNLACKOFSELFCONFIDENCELOLOLOLOLOL). Not sure what to do, he wandered around and saw Kenji and Alice having a battle, to which he simply sat down at a nearby bench and watched the battle go on... with a face that was a mix of a pondering and a dejected look at the same time.

Jean spotted another Spearow and sent Geodude after it. The grass around the area made it hard to see where the Spearow was, though.

"Alright Geodude, you know what to do." The Geodude nodded, or whatever floating rocks do to nod. The spearow leaped in the air but Geodude was quicker than it. "Tackle!" Jumping up, the Geodude leaped higher than the Spearow. Then, diving down, he tackled the Spearow into the ground. The Spearow seemed to faint quickly.

Jean scurried off in hopes of finding something besides a Spearow. He thought about using Pidgy.

"Eh, I was close." he would state with a shrug, going back to the pokemon center to heal both of his pokemon. He wouldn't go emoface like Gabe, but simply say "My Squirtle needs to get faster! If it was, that battle would have been mine!" while grabbing on its pokeball, now going back inside the gym, looking at the trainer he still needed to fight before challenging Brock. With confidence, he would wait until they were ready, and start the next pokemon battle.

Jean approached the exit of Route 22. He was about to leave, when suddenly, a Mankey ran up to him and Geodude in an anger fit. Jean scanned the Mankey with his Pokedex. "Mankey, the angry Monkey Pokemon," The Pokedex said in its mechanical voice. Jean figured as much. "Alright Geodude, lets make this quick so we can get out of here.

"Alright Geodude, tackle!" The Mankey was randomly throwing punches, but Geodude was too quick. He tackled just in time. When Mankey was withdrawing his arms, it was tackled immediatly and thrown back against a tree. It seemed to have fainted.
