Rules & Regulations

The Game of Death Note: Online has many rules. We take our gaming very seriously (..sometimes.) and would like you to abide by all of these rules. If you do, you'll be welcomed warmly into the DNO community. If you don't.. lets just say, that welcome won't be as friendly.

1.IC stays in IC verbs, OOC in OOC verbs._____________________
You are to roleplay using Say, Whisper, Speak Softly, and Shout. You cannot give away Out Of Character information while using In Character verbs, and you can't give out In Character info using Out Of Character verbs. Easy enough?


2.You have to roleplay the whole game, unless specified otherwise by a host / admin._____________________
Its argued whether DNO is a moderate-light roleplay game, or strict one. I'd like to call it a strict roleplaying game. You're required to use your best grammar when IC, but are free to use chatspeak such as "lol", and any abbreviations in out of character context. (OOC) With keeping people IC at all times, it makes for a more enjoyable roleplay experience.

However, if there is an event going on, where the host specifies that it will be an OOC event, feel free to speak in whichever manner you'd like (as long as it isn't offensive!)


4.No advertising. Period._____________________
You're not allowed to advertise

We take this very seriously, and you may be banned on sight if found advertising.
* Only certain games are allowed to be advertised- these would be Castle and Mafia, and only with host / admin permission.

5.General idiocy / douchery is not allowed._____________________
Don't act unintelligent on purpose, it's very annoying. Use your common sense, this rule can be elaborated to such an extent-- don't spam, don't insult people randomly, don't cause arguments. There you have it.

6.No bankspam, attacking-spam, or announce spam.____________
If you spam stealing from the bank (steal more than 3 in succession), spam knifing / shooting / punching people, or spam the Sakura TV Microphone (or even L's computer), you will be booted, banned, stripped of your role, or any other appropriate action.

7.You're not allowed to multikey.____________
You're allowed to be logged on with one key at a time. Special exceptions may be made by K, Kenji, or Cuddles only. If you're found multikeying, whether it be for cheating or "fun" without permission, you may be banned on the spot.

8.Roleplays must be realistic. No Godmod.____________
Godmod includes "I pull out my gun, hit you with it, and you die on the floor" then forcing the person to commit suicide. It also covers making hundreds of criminals die per Kira kill. Realistically, it's impossible to write down all those names in a matter of seconds.

9.Make messages realistically long.____________
If your L announce, Kira kill, or Sakura TV announce exceeds 100 words, you may just be IPbanned instantly. So be very careful with that. It spams the chatbox and is extremely annoying to read.

10.Don't try to avoid punishment in any way.____________
Mute avoiding by relogging, ban avoiding by changing key / IP, etc., may just result in a permanent ban from DNO. Whether you had a "reason" like your router resetting or "making a new main key" or "your char is glitched", it doesn't matter... It's still rule breaking.
