Spam - Types and Consequences Empty Spam - Types and Consequences

There are multiple types of spam, and each type of spam has its own consequence. Here is a brief overview of a few of them.

Gravedigging
Gravedigging is an extremely common type of spam. It's when somebody replies to a topic that has been "dead"- that is, hasn't been posted in- for over a month. If somebody digs up a post, it's considered spam. If a person wants to continue a discussion that was previously in that thread, and it's still valid, they should make a new topic.

Consequence:
2 Infraction Points

Multi-Posting
When you post two times in a row, this is multi-posting. If you would like to add something on, please edit your previous post.

Consequence:
1 Infraction Point

Classic "Spam"
If you post any post that is;
- Under five words
And no, emoticons don't count.
- Irrelevant to the topic at hand
- In all-caps or mostly caps
- Unimportant or insignificant
Then it's classic spam. If all you have to say is "Yes", or "I agree", don't bother posting unless you have something significant and important to add to a discussion.

Consequence:
1 Infraction Point

Topic Spam
If you make a topic that already exists, and hasn't been classified as "dead" yet, then it's topic spam. It clogs up the forum and is totally useless.

Consequence:
2 Infraction Points
You should use your best judgement for anything that wasn't covered, as punishment will be administered even if the spam isn't directly covered in this post and it's judged by the moderators to be spam.
